St. Lucie County Jail

Visitor Policy

Interview with Henry and Bob

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Henry: I could receive visitors one day per week. I was permitted to have ten people on my visitation list.
Bob: Once a week. The Delta Dorms had visitation on Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Henry: The check in process was lengthy, often spanning a wait and check in time of 1 hour.
Bob: I am not sure as I had no visitors. I do understand that they run a NCIC check on visitors and will arrest anyone found to have an outstanding warrant.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Henry: Visiting was through camera. I would be on one side of the jail, while my family would on the other. We could see each other in a monitor while speaking on a telephone.
Bob: I do know that the visits were conducted via a video link so basically you got to see your visitor on a tv screen and thats it. Kind of depressing. Also no one under the age of 18 is permitted to visit inmates so nobody can see their children while in the jail unless special arrangements are made. Also - I believe that if approved, a special "personal visit" can be arranged where you can see the visitor in person but I think very special conditions apply.

what are the visiting hours? they are not listed anywhere that I can find. when I click on visiting hours all I get is someones story.
